This State gets new Director General of Police
Mumbai: According to news agency ANI, the Maharashtra government on Friday appointed IPS officer Rajneesh Seth as the new Director General of Police of Maharashtra. He is a 1988 batch police officer. Prior to his appointment as the state DGP, he was the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau. Let us tell you that from April 2021, IPS officer Sanjay Pandey was holding the additional charge of DGP.
Notably, after the Bombay High Court recently reprimanded the state government for the "bias" of acting DGP Sanjay Pandey, the government had started the process of appointment of the state DGP and the post of DGP by Monday, February 21. The government was asked to make a decision.
