Kushinagar incident: PM announces 4 lakh compensation each to families of deceased

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday condoled the death of people in an accident during a pre-wedding ceremony in Kushinagar Wedding Tragedy and called it heartbreaking. Compensation has been announced for the families of those who lost their lives in the Kushinagar accident. The state administration has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased. While PM Modi has announced to give Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic accident in Kushinagar and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
Modi tweeted, "The accident in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh is heart-wrenching. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives in this. Along with this, I wish the injured a speedy recovery. The local administration is engaged in all possible help.”
In Naurangiya Tola village, around 10 o'clock on Wednesday night, women and girls were performing a marriage ceremony by sitting on an iron net above the well. During this the net broke and all the people sitting on it fell into the well. 13 women and children died in this accident.
