Bhopal Fire Fighter saves life climbing a top 90 meter high tower, gets awarded

Bhopal: There was chaos near State Bank intersection in Royal Market at 4.30 pm when people saw a young man climbing on the BSNL tower installed there. The young man was also throwing some pamphlets from a tower about 90 meters high. The man wrote a lot of demands concerning the lives of poor families. He also had a tricolor flag in his hand. On receiving the information, Bhopal Municipal fire brigade unit employee Kalim Akhtar alias Akbar and Shahjahanabad police station in-charge Zaheer Khan reached the spot and without wasting time climbed the tower. With the help of the employees of the rescue team of the Municipal Corporation from behind, the young man was tied with a rope and brought down safely after a struggle of about one and a half hours. For his bravery shown on 21st September the Municipal Corporation employee Kalim Akhtar was awarded today by the Pardhad Mr. Saud Khan and the Nagar Nigam employees. Life saver Kalim Akhtar suffers from a spinal injury , without caring for his injury he still climbed a top 90 meter high tower and rescued the man. The man after rescue was taken to the police station.
